Description: Figures of St Martin dividing his coat with the beggar, and St Alban holding a martyr's palm and a processional cross, both wearing gothic armour. In the tracery above, the shield of St Catherine, as for St Catherine's College Cambridge, and the shield of St Alban. Both saints within gothic architectural canopies and bases. 'In a vault near this place / are deposited the mortal remains of / Peter Hunt Esq. / Captain in His Majesty's Royal Navy / He commenced his naval career as a midshipman / on board HMS Barfleur in the year 1782 / and was present at the action of the glorious 12th of April; / and ended his valuable life in this town / December 4th 1824 aged 61 years. / As a man upright and benevolent / as a friend faithful and generous / he lived respected and died lamented / of his affection as a husband / this monument is a humble memorial / erected as a tribute to his worth / and a solace to her own grief / by his afflicted widow / to whose memory these few lines are added / by her affectionate nephew. / Mary Stuart Hunt widow of the above Capt. Peter Hunt RN / died at Cheltenham on the 4th June 1837 / aged 76 years / her remains rest in the same vault as those of her husband'
