Notes: Sir John Lindsay is buried in the north transept of Westminster Abbey, adjoining the grave of Lady Mansfield.

Sir John Lindsay was knighted in 1764 following the Rochefort expedition and the taking of Havana, Cuba in 1762. His ship, HMS Tartar, carried one of John Harrison’s chronometers during their sea trials.

His daughter Dido Elizabeth Belle was raised by his uncle, Lord Mansfield.
