Description: Tomb chest supporting a semi-recumbent effigy in Roman dress in white marble. On a dark marble base, a white marble relief of a warship of 70 guns (damaged). Two composite columns of grey marble above, with a pilaster behind each. Cartouche bearing Caldwell arms (azure a cross patee fitchee between 10 estoiles or), supported by cannon, muskets, swords and flags, surmounted by the closed helm of an esquire with the crest of a cock's head between two wings expanded or combed and wattled gules. Inscription tablet between the pilasters flanked by many different navigational instruments (see dossier for details).
