'HERE LIES ONE OF ENGLAND'S BEST LOVED SONS CHARLES, WILLIAM DE LA POER BERESFORD, SAILOR AND PATRIOT. This little memorial is erected by his sorrowing widow. ALSO HIS BELOVED WIFE. ELLEN JERAMINA. JOSEPHINE DE MANDELSLAH BERESFORD WHO DIED 26 MAY 1922. THIS LATTER INSCRIPTION WAS ADDED BY THEIR SORROWING DAUGHTER'
