Erected 1843 By Mary S Bruce In Memory of her Grandfather John Cree, Surgeon, R.N. Who died at sea on the 12th of July 1778 aged 42 years And also of his Spouse Mrs Margaret Robertson Who died at Montrose February 25th 1839 aged 92 years. The said Mary S Bruce Died 8th October 1868 aged 72 years.'
