Notes: According to Herbert's entry in the CWGC grave register: the SS 'Lord Tilbury' was hit by a mine off the Dover coast in January 1919. See 'The Times' 24 January 1919, 'Lord Tilbury' was hit by a mine while in the Channel. Joseph Thomas Herbert died in Dover of injuries received as a result of the explosion.'
