'IN LOVING MEMORY OF / MY DEAR HUSBAND / WILLIAM HILL / MASTER MARINER OF THIS CITY / WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE 28 AUGT 1891 / AGED 71 / FOR MANY YEARS A FAITHFUL SERVENT TO / THE LIVERPOOL SALVAGE ASSOCIATION / THE TOILSOME VOYAGES NOW ARE PAST / THE WEARIED MARINER RESTS AT LAST / AND WHEN THE LAST TRUMPETS CALL SHALL SOUND / MAY HE AMONG THE BLEST BE FOUND / ALSO EMMA WIFE OF THE ABOVE / WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE 11TH JULY 1897 / AGED 89 / NOTHING IN MY HAND I BRING / SIMPLY TO THY CROSS I CLING / ELLEN HILL DAUGHTER OF THE ABOVE / DEPARTED THIS LIFE 18TH MARCH 1936 / AGED 72 / ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME / LET ME HIDE MYSELF IN THEE.'
