'Under this Stone are deposited the Remains / of Mrs LUCY LOCKER the amiable and affectionate / wife of WILLIAM LOCKER Esq (Captain of the / Royal Navy) of this Parish who died the / 27 March 1780. Aged 30 years. / Sincere to all and undisguised by Art / Beset with the kindest and tenderest heart. / With unaffected Pride and Graceful Ease / With every Virtue, every Power to please / With every requisite for Social Life / The warmest Friend, the prudent virtuous wife. / Here LUCY lies. Divine assurance given / Such worth we know will meet reward in Heaven' [South side] 'This monument is also sacred to the / memory of WILLIAM LOCKER Esq / (Lieutenant Governor of / Greenwich Hospital) the affectionate / Husband of Mrs. LUCY LOCKER / He was born February the 17th 1730/1 / and departed this life December / 26th 1800'
