'Here rest in hopes of a Glorious Resurrection / to everlasting life the Bodies of Captaine IOHN / PRICE and of MARTHA his first wife. / She was ye Daighter of THOMAS GODMAN / of ye City of Bristol Esq and departed this life / the 22nd Day of October Anno Dom. 1696. / He was borne in Cardiffe in Glamorganshire. Was / Commander of several Ships of Warr during ye Reign of / King William of Glorious Memory who honoured him / with his particuler Favour & Esteeme & Continued / in ye Service of his Countrey under her present Majty / with great Fidelity Bravery & Success He departed this / life the 1st Day of Aprill Anno Dom. 1709'
