'Sacred to the memory of JOSEPH THOMAS BENNETT Master Mariner of this port (late of Vauxhall, London) who ded August 12th 1869 / Aged 53 years. He was an affectionate husband a tender father and a faithfull friend; beloved and deeply lamented by all who knew him. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
