'To the memory of Captain John CROCKETT who was born the 1st December 1786 and died at Capsing Moon on the 25th of June 1837 in the 51st year of his age, leaving a wife and five children, to deplore the loss of a kind husband and affectionate father. This monument was erected with the consent of his fond and bereaved widow by those belonging to the Lintin Fleet who deeply lament the death of so sincere and generous a friend'
