Notes: George Siddells, son of William Siddells. Born Hull 27 Oct. 1825. Died Wellington NZ 12 Feb. 1907 aged 82 years. Married Sarah Ann Proctor 11 Sept.1848 at Holy Trinity Church, Hull. 2nd marriage to Emma Smith 20 June 1854 at St Brides Church, London. Came to NZ on Bishop Selwyn's 1st Mission Ship 'Southern Cross'. Arrived Wellington, July 1855. George Siddells was 1st Mate and wrote the ship's log 29 March-19 July. Buried with wife Emma d. 20 Sept. 1896. Son John d. 25 June 1912. Reputed present on Franklin search expedition.
