'Sacred to the memory of Ernest ROLFE, Private R.M.L.I. H.M.S. 'Undaunted', died at Hong Kong 2nd July 1896. Aged 21 years. In the midst of life we are in death. Erected by his shipmates as a token of their esteem.'
