Description: The text is cut into a rectangular wall tablet with a rounded top. Above the text is the Keppel shield of arms (three scallop shells) to which a small rose has been added. Above, a knight's helmet with a coronet and a swan as the crest.

Notes: As commodore, Keppel was knighted for defeating pirates at the Battle of Fatshan Creek (1857). Keppel Harbour in Singapore is named after him. He was made Admiral of the Fleet in 1879.
