'In memory of / HENRY LANGLEY,ESQUIRE / Late Ordnance Storekeeper of Her majesty's Gun Wharf Portsmouth / From which office he retired in the year 1845 / having served his country with signal fidelity and honour / for more than half a century / born January 20th 1767, deceased June 19th 1859 / The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance / Psalm CXII, Verse V1'
