‘SACRED / to the memory of / WILLIAM WINDHAM / Vice Admiral of the White / eldest son of / Dr. Lukin, Dean of Wells by Catherine / daughter of Robert Lee Doughty, Esq. / of Hanworth / He was born 20th September 1768 / and died 12th January 1833 / Aged 64 years / By will, he succeeded to / the name and property of his uncle, / the late / Right Honourable William Windham / upon the demise of his widow in 1824 / Vice Admiral Windham married in 1801, Anne / second daughter of Peter Thellusson, Esq., / Broadsworth, Co. York / by her, he had issue / seven sons and six daughters, / all of whom survived him with the exception / of George, a Lieutenant in the Navy / who died at Malta / and Thomas who died an infant'
