'In memory of Walter John Perkis 11th August 1874 - 4th August 1954. Quartermaster R.M.S. Titanic. Commanded Lifeboat No.4 Rescued eight from the sea on the night of 15th April 1912. Also his wife Phoebe and their son Robert. We never knew them but they have touched our hearts. By grace ye are saved. Eph 2 v 5'
