'EURYDICE / In affectionate remembrance of / FRANCIS HOPE TABOR, / LIEUTENANT ROYAL NAVY; / WHO WAS DROWNED BY THE CAPSIZE OF / H.M.S. "EURYDICE," / OFF DUNNOSE, ISLE OF WIGHT, / MARCH 24TH 1878. / THIS TABLET WAS ERECTED BY THe OFFICERS / OF THE SHIPS IN WHICH HE HAD SERVED.'

Description: The incription on a carved marble scroll, above which is an anchor carved in high relief with the chain wrapped around a cross. It stands on a rock on which is carved part of a laurel wreath. Below the inscription tablet, a shield of arms and a crest with the motto: 'VINCIT VERITAS'.
