'To the memory of the officers and crew of the S.S. Broomfleet which sailed from this port on Dec 13th 1933 and foundered in the North Sea off the Norfolk Coast

Notes: SS 'Broomfleet' was built in Middlesborough in 1915 and originally named ‘Avonwood’. It was registered by the London Transport Company in 1917. The Ebor Steamship Co, Coole registered the renamed ‘Bloomfleet’ in 1930. The steamer founded in gales enroute with coal, from Goole in Yorkshire to Ipswich, Suffolk. The owners were E. P. Atkinson & Sons.
