Son of / Admiral Sir Graham Moore G.C.B. and nephew of / General Sir John Moore K.B. / He inherited the fine chivalrous noble qualities of / both and was a bright example of the beauty of holiness / He was the only son of his Mother and she was a widow' [Around the memorial] 'What I do thou knowest not now but thou shalt know hereafter God's will be done'
