'Sacred to the memory of Thomas Cox Royal Marine Light Infantry who departed this life at Port Royal Jamaica on the 25th August 1862 aged 39 years. This tablet was erected by his comrades serving on board H.M.S. Agamemnon as a token of respect to his memory'
