'In sacred and affectionate memory of / John Neilson Gladstone / of Bowden Park. Third Son of / Sir John Gladstone Bart. of Basque N.B. / Member for Devises - A Magistrate and / Dep: Lieut: for Wilts. / This tablet was placed with the consent / of his Family by 127 of his / co-parishioners and neighbours by / contributions from one penny upwards to / record their gratitude for his pious liberality / in building this church at his sole expense / and further endowing it. / He was born January 18th 1807. / He died February 7th 1863 / His body rests in the church-yard. / Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord / Yea, that they may rest from their labours / and their works do follow them Rev. XIV'

Description: Gothic tracery above the inscription tablet, an angel holds a scroll inscribed 'I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH'. Surrounded by a border of vine leaves and trefoils.
