'Sacred to the memory of / Captain William Browell / of the Royal Navy / Lieutenant Governor of Greenwich Hospital / who died the 21st July 1831 aged 72 years / Also to the memory of Mary Browell, the beloved wife of the above / who died the 19th September 1809 aged 51 years / "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord/from henceforth, yea, saith the spirit that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them"'
