'Beneath this Tomb are Interred the Remains of Mrs. / Elizabeth Larkan alias Knott, late wife to Captain / John Larkan, of his Majesty's Royal Navy, she died on / the 20th May, 1815, aged 52 years. / Abigail Fleming otherwise Larkan, died 29th March, / 1825, aged 38 years. John Larkan, Captain in the / Royal Navy, died 1st November, 1830, aged 83 years.'

Notes: John Larkan was first lieutenant of the HMS Pandora which, in 1790, went in search of Fletcher Christian and the Bounty mutineers. The Pandora was wrecked on the Great Barrier Reef off Queensland in 1791.
