'Henry Inman Esq., a Captain in the Royal Navy, who died in the 46th year of his age, from a coup de soleil, twelve days after landing from the ‘Clorinda’ frigate on 4th July 1809, on which ship he came out to fulfil the duties of Naval Commisioner at Madras, an appointment made by the Lords of the Admiralty from their conviction of his capacity and integrity, and as some reward for the zeal and gallantry that had distinguished his professional services.’ ‘In him the gentlest manners were united in the firmest mind'
