'Samuel Sheppard Oakley Morris, M.A. Chaplain and Naval Instructor of H.M. Battleship 'Victoria', who was lost with 359 others, in the foundering of the ship in collision off Tripoli, 22 June 1893...He worked for others to the end and went down with the vessel. His last words were: 'Steady Men Steady!' He was the third son of the Revd Ebenezer Morris, for nearly 50 years, vicar of this Parish, 1820 to 1867'
