'Dedicated / By / THOMAS MCGREGOR / Shipmaster Dundee / AND / ANN ELINSHALL / His wife: / to perpetuate the memory of / their children viz; / ALEXANDER who died 31st March / 1820 Aged 22 ...' [The remainder of the inscription worn away]. [Reverse] 'Weep not for me but be content / I was not yours but only lent / Wipe of [sic] those tears and weep no more / I was not yours but gone before'.

Description: Headstone with a shield containing the masonic symbols of a compass and set square above the inscription on the front and a cutter-rigged vessel carved on the reverse.
