Description: A crown surmounts the white text on a pentagonal brass plaque, which is affixed to a polished wooden board. Admiral Giffard, his wife, and two other sons are commemorated on a plaque next to this one. The quote in the last line of text is taken from an anonymous Belgian poem entitled 'The Cross'.
