‘To the dear memory of Edward Henry Howard, Vice-Admiral, A.D.C. to Queen Victoria, Naval Attaché for Europe, 3rd son of the Very Rev. The Hon. Henry Howard, D.D., sometime Dean of this cathedral church. Born 1832, Died January 18th 1890. This tablet is dedicated by his mother.’
