Notes: Probably died of yellow fever.

  1. His grave lies near Port Royal, Kingston Jamaica in the Naval Cemetry amongst fellow sailors and Royal Engineers. They all appear to have succumb to Yellow Fever. His inscription reads- In loving memory of The Revd.Thomas Mutton.B.A chaplain of HMS Urgent son of William Mutton esq of Trenant park Duloe Cornwall England. Born 17th April 1871 Died at Port Royal 27thFeb1901- I have fought a good fight-
    I have finished my course- I have kept the faith.
